Maze Shooter

Maze shooter prototype for Game Design 3

In this game, you need to survive in the maze for as long as possible. Shooting enemies lets you level up and increase your damage. Don't get pushed off the maze!

Prototype Purpose

The Maze Shooter prototype was developed to explore and validate several key design questions:

  • Player Engagement: Does the combination of moving mazes and shooting mechanics create an engaging and enjoyable experience for players?
  • First-Person Perspective: How does the first-person view impact the player's immersion and gameplay experience compared to a potential top-down perspective?
  • Dynamic Environment: How does the movement of the maze influence player strategy and overall game dynamics?

Main Mechanics

The prototype consists of the following main mechanics:

  • Walking and Shooting: Players can navigate through the maze and shoot at enemies to survive.
  • Enemy Interaction: Killing enemies allows players to level up and increase their damage output.
  • Dynamic Maze: The maze itself moves, adding a layer of complexity and strategy to the gameplay.
  • Power Upgrades: Basic power-up systems to enhance the player's abilities as they progress.

Conclusion

The prototype served as a valuable tool to answer these design questions and guide future iterations of the game. The feedback collected from playtesting this prototype will inform decisions on how to further develop the game's core mechanics and dynamic environment.
